Ad • Join me aboard Wind Star, Windstar Cruises’ beautiful motor sailing yacht, as we explore Bastia and Saint-Florent on the island of Corsica. Our day begins with a scenic shore excursion travelling over the Col de Teghime mountain pass. From here, there are breathtaking views across both coasts of Corsica, the Tyrrhenian Sea to the east and the Gulf of Saint-Florent to the west. We descend into the charming fishing village of Saint-Florent, known for its colourful harbour, relaxed atmosphere and Mediterranean views. After exploring the waterfront, we continue to a local winery for a guided tour showing how Corsican grapes are transformed from vine to bottle, ending with a delicious wine tasting. Back on board Wind Star, I enjoy a relaxing lunch at The Veranda. The fish of the day was superb! With the afternoon free, I return ashore to explore Bastia’s old port, winding streets and its impressive main square, said to be one of the largest in France. As evening falls, I enjoy sailaway from Bastia, a fascinating port talk about our next destination Calvi, and a delicious dinner in Amphora to finish a perfect Mediterranean day.
