Travel And Tour World had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Mark Walsh, the Portfolio Director of Arabian Travel Market, Luxury Portfolio & Specialist Events of Reed Travel Exhibitions on the second day of the event. Mr. Walsh told Travel And Tour World about the prospects of the MIDDLE EAST market and how UAE is gearing up to host the Dubai Expo 2020. He spoke about how ATM has become the one stop show for luxury planners, business planners, leisure travel planners, cruise and medical tour operators. Delegates from 157 countries participated in the event and took ATM to a different level this year. Mr. Walsh spoke about the regional sectors and how the inbound and outbound travel trends of the world travel industry is going through a huge shift. In this candid interview, Mark Walsh described how the European, American and Asian companies have shown their interest in the event and came to exhibit their services at ATM 2014. He said, β€œWe expected an uptake in 2014 and the coming years will see ATM grow more.” Speaking about technology and the role of social media he said, β€œTechnology is the fastest growing aspect in all our shows (RTE), the presence of Google, Sabre, Travelport and other travel technology providers in ATM is phenomenal.”
