Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa brought the Disney magic to Ko Olina Hawaii for the first time with its opening on August 29th, 2011. As the third Disney hotel built without a theme park to attract guests, it's the first designed to be a full fledged resort of its own. Complete with all your favorite Disney Characters such as Mickey Mouse and Moana the resort even has a character buffet just like the main resorts. Featuring the largest Disney Vacation Club presence of any hotel in the world the resort features a large set of DVC benefits and events that are exclusive to members. The most significant feature of the entire resort though is in its design and layout. With a strong connection to it's Hawaiian roots the resort features two large towers, the Waianae and Ewa towers. These large buildings extend towards the beach from the main entrance area which opens up onto the large Waikolohe Valley that they create. This expansive area is filled with the largest water park of any Disney Resort. Featuring two water slides, a massive lazy river, and 3 different pool areas guests can spread out amongst the trees and nature to enjoy their time. For the adults the Wailana Pool allows for a space free of the chaos of the kids and families. For those looking for some Hawaiian sand, the end of the valley opens up to the beach area. Featuring a lagoon to keep the seas calm guests can lay out on the sand or rent a variety of items to enjoy the ocean. In addition to the pools and aquatic features the Waikolohe Valley also features many dining and snack venues scattered throughout to ensure guests can spend their entire day there. This video walk through was filmed during the morning of June 1st and late at night on June 2nd.
