Today, we're on the Avalon Imagery II a river cruise ship sailing on the Rhine River. This is an Avalon Waterways ship, and the Imagery II is a newer ship - it was launched in 2016! You'll enjoy the nice appointments throughout this ship. As we head indoors, you'll find the spacious reception and foyer area just inside the doors. Heading further to the front of the ship, step up to the bar or use the 24/7 self-serve coffee/tea/hot chocolate station that is just inside the Panorama Lounge. The Panorama Lounge is the real hub of this ship. It feels like a living room, with decor that is upscale and comfortable. There is a library area if you're looking for a book. And there are many seating areas - for large and small groups to gather around the lunch and snacks served up daily in the Panorama Lounge . . .or for music and entertainment . . and for the Cruise Director's short talk before dinner to confirm all the details of your upcoming ports and activities. There is also a covered outdoor area at the front of the Panorama Lounge. There are numerous places to enjoy a cocktail, meal or conversation outside into the fresh air. At the back of the ship, stop by the Club Lounge on the Royal Deck. This is available with another 24/7 coffee and snack station. On Avalon ships, you'll also find a water selection available in the lounge, as well. Head downstairs to find the Panorama Dining Room. You'll enjoy a full breakfast, lunch and 4-course chef-prepared dinner in the Dining Room. Sit where you want, with whomever you want, as you make new friends during your Avalon River Cruise. There's even a fitness room onboard, which offers indoor bike, treadmill, and other exercise equipment. Enjoy the multi-functional spaces on the Sun Deck. This is the upper deck, with outdoor seating, houses the navigational bridge and is the location for a lot of fun activities while you're cruising. There is a barbecue lunch venue on the top deck where you can enjoy an outdoor alternative at lunch when the weather is good. There are bicycles for guests' use - either during a planned excursion or for a ride on your own! You'll find lots of seating, outdoor games, a hot tub and a walking/jogging track. While we're here on the Imagery II, we'll show you two of the most typical guest staterooms. First, join me as I show you the 'entry level' standard stateroom, found on the Indigo Deck. These staterooms offer all the same features as a Panorama Stateroom, just scaled back a bit in size. You'll notice the bathroom area, for example, is smaller. The big difference is that the standard staterooms offer two transom level fixed windows - up at the water level - so this stateroom is not a balcony stateroom like you find on the two upper guest decks. Then we'll take a good look at the Panorama Suites, which are Avalon's signature guest staterooms. These are the most plentiful staterooms on the Imagery II and they have a lot to offer - check it out!
