Chile completely surprised us with just how personal and unique the wine country experience could be. Instead of crowded tourist buses and packed tasting rooms, we spent two incredible days exploring a mix of boutique wineries, scenic vineyards, and some of Chile’s larger wine producers through both the Maipo Valley and Aconcagua Valley. What made this experience stand out was how relaxed and intimate many of the tastings felt. At several wineries, we were the only guests there at the time, which made the experience feel much more personal and gave us a chance to really talk about the wines, the regions, and the differences between smaller boutique production and larger commercial wineries. In this video, we take you along for wine tastings, beautiful vineyard scenery, incredible Chilean food, and a look at one of the most enjoyable travel experiences we had in South America. Our Maipo Valley wine day included visits to: • Viña Santa Ema • Odjfell Vineyards • Viña Undurraga Our Aconcagua Valley wine day included: • Viña El Escorial • Lunch at La Ruca Restaurant We also used a private guide for both experiences, which made the days incredibly flexible and stress-free — especially because one of the tours doubled as an airport transfer day from Santiago. A huge thank you to Al Ramirez, known as the “Graffiti Sommelier,” for helping create such a memorable experience. If you’re planning a trip to Chile, flying through Santiago, or cruising through South America, Chile wine country is absolutely worth adding to your plans.
