Alaska is open for 2021!! This is exciting as we were not sure if the Alaska season would be possible with Canada closing their borders and ports... but we are back and able to sail from Seattle. We are doing a test cruise for NCL. What is a test cruise you ask? It is a non-revenue sailing where the crew can test out all of the new protocols to make sure all runs smoothly next week when paying customers get onboard... so we don't mind being the guinea pigs! Our sailing is a 4-day to Ketchikan, Alaska and back. So what did we have to do to board? All passengers are 100% vaccinated, even kids. We had to show proof of vaccination AND take a rapid test upon arrival which was paid for by the cruise line. Once your test comes back negative, you are allowed to board. But the good thing about all this is once you are onboard, no masks are required anywhere onboard!! We had a GREAT sailaway party and caught a beautiful sunset over the Pacific.
