"Britannia", "Oceana", "Boudicca" & "AIDAmar" in Southampton - 09/03/2015
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
One day before the naming ceremony, P&O Cruises' new "Britannia" was still at the 'Ocean' Cruise Terminal in Southampton Monday 9th March 2015 in the company of her older fleetmate "Oceana" moored at the 'QEII' Terminal whilst another new ship (for Southampton) was AIDA's "AIDAmar" which was making the first of several visits to the port over the next two months. She was at Berth 102 due to the 'Mayflower' Terminal still under renovation and the 'City' Terminal being occupied by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines' "Boudicca". Whilst "Britannia" would remain in Southampton until her two-night shakedown cruise on Wednesday 11th, the other three set out on cruises during the evening. "Oceana" was the first to depart at 16:52 heading for Funchal, Maderia followed by "Boudicca" at 17:13 heading for Alesund, Norway. "AIDAmar" left at 19:49 to continue her cruise from Hamburg with the next port of call - Le Havre. Unusually she reversed down past Mayflower Park and the Town Quay before turning in front of the 'Ocean' Dock where "Britannia" was. Viewed from Town Quay and Mayflower Park.
