Carnival Celebration was built in 2022 and launched out of Southampton, England on November 6, 2022. Its home port is Miami, FL. It weighs 180,000 tons of which equals 360,000,000 pounds. I don’t believe this includes crew & passengers’ (If you know please leave a comment). Capacity is 6,500 passengers and 1,735 crew for a total of 8,235 people on board. Let’s put that in perspective. The City of Hudson, NY has an est. population of 5,894 people & it encompasses 2.33 sq. miles of land. The Carnival Celebration is bigger than a lot of towns and cities around the world. It’s over 1,130 feet long. The captain of this beautiful ship is captain Vincenzo Alcaras. When Carnival Celebration completed its first week in service from Miami, Captain Alcaras also marked his 26th anniversary with Carnival Cruise Line. He started in 1996, the Italy native worked on Carnival’s original Celebration as a second officer. He first became captain in 2006 on Carnival Miracle. He’s worked on several ships throughout the fleet and has been part of the inaugural team for newbuilds, overseeing the delivery of Carnival Breeze and Carnival Celebration’s Excel-class sister Mardi Gras. The Hotel Director Lars Juel has been with Carnival for 17 years and has a very impressive background in hotel management. He can be seen everywhere on the ship. I would consider him to be one of the best hotel directors in the Carnival fleet. Lee Mason the Cruise Director was recently awarded cruise director of the year and was previously the cruise director on the Mardi Gras. This is not all of the management team however, the vibe of the ship (business) comes from the leadership style of the management team and filters throughout the organization. It’s very apparent to me that this team is doing a great job. I really need to give a shoutout to Empress Casino and all who work in the casino. Here are some of the many dealers Nabin, Sachi, Patrick “the Cleaner”. The best money counters Sachin & Karen I wish I saw them more often. Pit bosses and slot guys Clinton, William, Melvin and Ned GO PATS. The amazing bar staff Joel, Meryzel, thanks for #15, Steffan, Ali, Sarah, Eka, IKadek, Jemmile, and Peng. Tettiana and Nosi are a few of the great host team on the Celebration. I want to give an extra shoutout to Dominic Casino Manager thank you for your conversation, energy, and time. This group of casino & bar staff keeps the casino hopping, full of energy, laughs and it lives up to the FUN ship reputation. Also, thanks to the Players Club, they do a great job marketing the casino and filling all the seats. I wish I got the names of the people I met from deck-0 in the main laundry room. This group of people probably have the most thankless job on the ship. Thank you for what you do. If you happen to see this video please comment your name. Miami Slice Krishna thank you for the best Pizza. The Chibang!, Winston, Master Chefs and all the crew thank you. It’s my opinion you provide the highest quality food and service. Red Frog, Nyoman I love your mustache, keep it going. My favorite dining host Nina until we meet again. My friend in Loft 19 IWayman you do such a great job in the loft. I hope to see you in Bali sometime next year. Fun Squad Robby I hope to see you as a cruise director the next time we meet. The Pixels group Ravi, Brandon, Tuti, Gede, Dani you guys do a great job capturing awesome moments. I really appreciate your help with the Chibang Photo. Front desk Vanessa, Alya & Myrna, there are two kinds of people in the world problem makers and problem solvers. You girls are what I call problem solvers. On the gang plank in Aruba, Linda I’m going to call you gang plank girl thank you for greeting me and Nilesh thank you for sending me off the gang plank. My room steward for cabin 10230 Joanna and her helper were amazing they were like ninjas, they were in and out and laundry was done on time. One more shoutout to IGEDE I was on deck-8 during embarkation day eating PIZZA and IGede pointed to a phone on an empty seat and asked if it was mine. I said no. I told him to bring it to the front desk. Shortly after, the owner showed up at the seat looking for her phone. I was so happy to be there and tell her IGede found it and brought it to the front desk. This woman was so happy. I IGede didn’t see her face but if you are reading this or watching the video I want you to know you made a young woman very happy. I can say I spoke to all of these people and more and I’m so sorry I forgot your name or didn’t take a photo. One last shout out to every crew member, and staff on the Carnival Celebration This beautiful ship wouldn’t move without you and it wouldn’t move with out the passengers. It takes a good crew and good passengers to make a great cruise. Thank you for what you do, your hard work and sacrifice from home is noticed and it is greatly appreciated by many cruisers. Until we meet again. THANK YOU!
