Cruise news today. Carnival is increasing the price of its Cheers! Drink package by $10 per person per day for short cruises of 3, 4, or 5 nights. This increase applies to all cruise departure dates from December 1, 2023 and later. Booked guests have until Saturday, October 7 to purchase the package at $59.95 daily. Norwegian Cruise Line is doubling its capacity of solo staterooms across its fleet starting January 2. The line will add 1,000 solo cabins in three categories: Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, and Solo Balcony. Guests in solo staterooms on select ships can access a key-card-only Studio Lounge with a beer and wine bar and snacks. Norwegian says the change comes in response to a surge in solo travel. Celebrity Cruises' newest ship, Celebrity Ascent, has completed sea trials with brother captains Demetrios and Tasos Kafetzis at the helm. With nearly 200 crew members, the ship passed a series of maneuverability skill tests conducted in the Bay of Biscay near the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France.
