Carnival Vista Cruise Day 5- Belize Sharks, Rays, Barrier Reef Snorkel & Island Escape March19-26th

Back to cruising!!! My wife and I had a cruise scheduled for April 2020 and it was postponed a bunch, but we kept getting credits and such that we got a second room and brought the kids (and had lots of onboard credit!) With rules for kids we had to wait until they were vaxxed and spring break worked out great! Second stop on this cruise, Belize City, Belize! This is our first ever official Carnival Excursion: Sharks, Rays, Barrier Reef Snorkel & Island Escape. With how long this excursion is and lots of water transport and the reasonable price, we decided to go with it! We had to tender to port, regroup at port, then jump on a faster boat for the 40 minute ride to Caye Culker and the Lazy Lizard. After getting fitted for snorkel equipment and a potty break we went out to the breakers for shark and ray swimming. It was very wavy and windy the day we did it but it was still amazing! The sharks were so not scary it was weird (I was more scared with the sting rays in grand cayman than this, and not really scared there either.) The kids loved it! Some dude found a conch and brought it on board and all of a sudden a baby octopus fell out! Crazy! We then went to snorkel! My GoPro didn't work for the first half of the snorkel which had all the good stuff!!! Jess even saw a sea turtle. I literally had to remove the battery and reinstall in the ocean to get the GoPro to work again so I got the last couple of minutes where it was deep. But the kids loved this too! Back to the boat for some rum punch! We took a detour to feed tarpon fish (super fun and crazy) Then to the Lazy Lizard for lunch. We were asked to order from the menu on our way to Caye Caulker but we decided not to...we just ordered when we got there and were able to sit oceanside instead of in the picnic area. I hiked 2/3 of a mile south to get a couple geocaches! Caye Caulker is amazing and I highly recommend this if you get the chance. Grabbed an iced coffee at Ice and Beans and headed back to the split just in time for nachos and a Belikin beer!!! Back on the boat to head back to Belize City. A couple more rum punches and Nina napped and we made it back. Grabbed a couple souvenirs and then tendered back all tired but happy! Went to dinner... kids said this was the best day ever and best cruise port of the 4 they went to (and that held up after Cozumel too). Didn't film much of the night as we were tired and Cozumel would be here soon too! Thanks for watching!
