First we took a bus from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. This journey took about three and half hours. We left from the Chiang Mai bus terminal at 11:30 via the green bus company. After arriving in Chiang Rai we quickly boarded a local bus that would take us the rest of the way to Chiang Khong. The local bus from Chiang Rai to Chiang Khong took about two hours, and there was no A/C on the bus. It was a hot ride, but also a very beautiful ride because we got to see the rural country side of Thailand. After arriving in Chiang Khong, we caught a tuk tuk to our guest house. The journey from Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong was more pleasant than expected. Anytime we have to ride on buses all day, I always prepare myself for the worst.
