We enjoyed (Copenhagen) so much that we had plans to go into Sweden and we decided to stay longer in Copenhagen (just be aware of taxis, warning below). Truly gorgeous city, atmosphere was buzzing in Copenhagen, yet it had a really relaxed and incredibly safe feel. Radhuspladsen and square, Kings New Square, Nyhavn street, Christianborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle, The little Mermaid, Gefion Fountain, the marble church (Frederick), The changing of the Guard at Amalienborg Palace, Church bells ringing, canons firing, what an atmosphere! Now I wanted to talk about taxis!! We arrived at airport coming into Copenhagen from Brisbane; it was supposed to cost between 40-60 AUD Maximum. Fare cost us 550 Kroner (120 AUD). Nothing we could do as it was on meter rate. If you have a suitcase and are a tourist, they seem to overcharge. Coming back of the cruise we prebooked a taxi from Cruise terminal to airport cost quoted was 400 Kroner. On this taxi meter it was 280 kroner as we arrived at the airport, subsequently the driver switched it off, and we had to pay 400 kroner as agreed. There is a good public transport system including metro, but we wanted convenience with large suitcases.
