We finally made it to Hubbard Glacier—and with a name like ours, how could we not?! In this video, we sail through the dramatic landscapes of Yakutat and Disenchantment Bays aboard the Carnival Luminosa on her 31-day repositioning cruise from Australia to Seattle. This early-season visit to Alaska (late April) offered a unique perspective—floating icefields, snow-draped mountains, and a towering glacier that didn’t disappoint. ❄️🗻 Although our ship stayed back about five miles from the glacier due to seasonal ice, we share what you might experience if you visit later in the season—or take one of the special small boat excursions offered by some cruise lines. 🚤 🎥 We also give you a sneak peek of our small-boat adventure to Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm Fjord from the Carnival Miracle.
