Vision of the Seas is cruising Oslo Fjord a very early morning in June 2011. The Oslo Fjord is an inlet in the south-east of Norway. The 'fjord' is in total 107 km long and stretching from Skagerak Strait in South to Oslo in North. The Oslo fjord is a bay and not a fjord in the geological sense - in Norwegian the term "fjord" can refer to a wide range of waterways. The bay is divided into the outer Oslo fjord which is up to 50 km wide and a very narrow inner fjord, Drøbaksundet. which is 17 km long from the small town of Drøbak and up to Oslo. When we enter Drøbysund we are passing Oscarsborg Fortress at port side, a coastal fortress in the Oslofjord, The fortress is situated on two small islets.
