Creator's Key Takeaways

We have never been to Mexico before, and I know we're only going to see a very small glimpse of it, but we're excited for what we're about to see.

I could have spent so much longer there. I don't think that was enough time really.

I think for the price I would, but I would caution you that it is rushed.

Mickey's Color Spin Dance Party might just be my new favorite show. It was incredible.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Fill up on breakfast first before the excursion.
Bring cash for video recording fees at ruins.
Book excursions to explore more of the port.

Welcome to a new vlog series and our first port day as we sail onboard the Disney Treasure, exploring Cozumel, Mexico. **Enter our giveaway which we’re running for the duration of these vlogs. Subscribe and leave a comment to enter, the more comments, the more entries!** Today is Monday 2nd June and it’s our first port day as we sail on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, The Treasure, for a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise. During this sailing we’ll be travelling to: Cozumel, Mexico George Town, Grand Cayman Falmouth, Jamaica Castaway Cay, Bahamas We’ve booked the Ruins, Chocolate & Beach excursion to explore Cozumel as much as possible during our day here today. We start the day with a sit down breakfast at 1923, enjoying all of our favourites. I’ve missed the Disney Cruise Line eggs benedict and of course, Mickey waffles 😋 Before disembarking the ship, we attend a briefing for the day which provides you with all the important information for the day, plus anything health and safety related that you need to know. We board a coach to take us to our first stop, San Gervasio Mayan ruins! We were so excited for this, we are big history nerds and loved exploring this area. We just wish we’d had longer to look around! To note, if you are filming anything, there is an additional cost of $4 (payable at the entrance gate) so be sure to bring some $$ with you. Next up we board the coach to travel to the next location, the Mayan Cacao Company. Here we get to see a traditional Mayan home before sampling a tortilla with mole and then receiving a demonstration of traditional chocolate making. There’s chocolate-based cocktails for purchase and the opportunity to sample some more of the chocolate as you explore the gift shop. Our final stop on the excursion is the Kuza Beach and Adventure park. We are transported to the beach in gold buggies and shown to the area available to us. We absolutely love the water and had the best time swimming in the Caribbean Sea! Be warned, we encountered a lot of seaweed (long-time phobia! 🤣). We travel back to the ship for an evening of fun onboard the Disney Treasure and provide a detailed breakdown of our excursion, pricing and whether we would recommend it or not. Our dining this evening is at Worlds of Marvel and we dress up accordingly before having one of the best and most entertaining dinners we experienced on the ship, with a surprise character meet! After dinner, it’s time for a new deck show for us, Mickey’s Color (Colour) Spin Dance Party. Stay tuned to hear our thoughts on this! Next up is cocktail of the day, one of our favourite things to do to relax onboard, followed by another trivia quiz, also one of our favourite things to do! My night is made by meeting a couple of characters, one I’ve never met before! Such a fun meet and greet. We finish the night with a family game show before heading back to our stateroom for bedtime!
