We have important cruise line news to cover this week. We have a big CDC cruise update as they announced phase 2B and 3. We are going to go over the major requirements from those phases. We also might see cruise ships skip Florida this summer. All that and more so be sure to check out our cruise line news today. The CDC's conditional sail order is very important cruise news. On Wednesday the next two phases, 2B and 3, were announced with requirements that cruise lines need to follow to be able to start test cruising and then apply for a covid-19 conditional sailing certificate. The CDC identified the importance of vaccines and commented that not all cruise companies have made vaccines mandatory. They do recommend that all employees at ports, crew and passengers have their vaccine. When looking at the requirements in phase 2B and 3 most in the cruise line industry won't be shocked. Masks are going to be required unless a passenger is eating, drinking or in their cabin. Many of us hoped that masks would not be required but we will need to have them on even on the pool deck. The new phases also confirm that there will not be any buffets. It is recommended that cruise lines offer pre-packed food and utensils. However I think the next requirement is the most important cruise news update. The CDC is suggests passengers wear recording technology that tracks you. They want to be able to contact trace passengers so they know when you are not adhering to social distancing. We are interested to hear more from the CDC and cruise lines about this. Our next cruise line news story takes us to Florida. It was only a month ago that Florida and Alaska were suing to get cruising back this summer. Well Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, has signed an executive order banning COVID 19 passports in Florida. This order prevents business from requiring proof of a covid vaccine. This is big cruise news today as it goes directly against what the CDC stated. As a result of this Norwegian Cruise Lines CEO Frank Del Rio said that the company could suspend sailings from Florida.
