Grand Princess Powers Out Of Vancouver Harbour Before the Wildfire Smoke Rolls In #alaskacruise
YouTube Video Description↓
The Grand Princess made her afternoon departure from Vancouver under striking blue skies and some of the strongest winds we’ve seen this summer. Waves shimmered in the bright light, mountains stood sharp against the horizon, and the city’s skyline gleamed in the sun. Despite gusts strong enough to rock the camera, she pushed gracefully away from Canada Place, turning west toward the open Strait. What passengers didn’t know was just how perfect their timing was—wildfires on Vancouver Island and to the north had been sending smoke into the Lower Mainland at times this summer, and more was on the way. Within an hour of her departure, skies began to soften, the distant ridges blurred, and the faint smell of woodsmoke drifted over the harbour. But for this moment, it was nothing but wind, water, and one unforgettable sailaway. #GrandPrincess #VancouverSailaway #CruiseShipDeparture #CanadaPlace #VancouverHarbour #WildfireSmoke #WindyDay #CruiseSeason2025 #MountainsAndSea #PacificNorthwest #alaskacruise
