From Viking Kings To Marilyn Monroe Onboard P&O Britannia. P&O Britannia arrives in Haugesund, Norway on the return leg of our Norwegian Fjord Cruise. Haugesund Norway the home of Viking Kings as well as the father of Marilyn Monroe Marilyn Monroe was born Marilyn Monroe, Norma Jeane Mortenson. In the 10th century, the area around Haugesund was home to Harald Fairhair, the first king of Norway. He is thought to be buried under a mound at Haugar by the Strait of Karmsund near Haugesund.
