The Royal Navy's Amphibious Assault Ship/Helicopter Carrier HMS "Ocean" (L12) has been operating for the best part of 20 years since her commission in September 1998 - but that time is almost over for she will be decommissioned in March 2018 before moving to Rio de Janeiro by the end of the year. From Friday 2nd to Tuesday 6th February 2018, she made her final visit to Portsmouth where she briefly met the new Aircraft Carrier HMS "Queen Elizabeth" before the latter left the same day to commence its helicopter flying trials. In this short video we see HMS "Ocean" departing from Portsmouth Harbour with tug assistance as she headed off to Marchwood Military Port in Southampton. She is due to return to her Home Base at Devonport on Friday. Viewed from Southsea.
