HUGE CHANGE! Princess Eliminates Standard Insurance — What You MUST Know

Princess Cruises just announced major changes to their travel insurance — and these will dramatically affect how you protect your vacations going forward. Here’s what you need to know: 🛡️ Standard Vacation Protection Is Being Eliminated Starting December 9, Princess will no longer offer the Standard Vacation Protection plan. Only Platinum Vacation Protection will remain — at full price for everyone. This means Platinum and Elite guests will no longer receive the loyalty perk of paying standard rates for platinum-level coverage. ❗ New “Cancellation Protection” Option Princess is introducing a new option that replaces the former “At-Ease Waiver.” Now called Cancellation Protection, it: Covers only cancellation (NOT medical, NOT interruption, NOT evacuation) Requires cancellation at least 72 hours before any part of your trip begins (air, hotels, cruise tours, etc.) Is not true travel insurance — just a refund mechanism This mirrors Holland America’s system, and Allison shares why she’s not a big fan. ✈️ Why This Matters Travel insurance protects you from: Medical emergencies Evacuation Trip interruption Illness before or during the trip Unexpected events (two medical emergencies just on this cruise!)
