Three ships will begin cruising, starting with Norwegian Jade in Greece on July 25th. Then, Norwegian Joy will begin offering Caribbean sailings from Montego Bay, Jamaica on August 7th. Finally, Norwegian Gem will offer cruises from the Dominican Republic later in August. These sailings are now on sale on NCLβs website. When it comes to resuming cruising in the U.S., Norwegian Cruise Line sent a letter to the CDC yesterday indicating it was ready to begin sailing from the U.S this July. In this major cruise news update, the cruise line's bold move for the resumption of cruising will be possible due to the new Sail SAFE program, the company indicated. -----HOW NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE WILL RESUME CRUISING------ This Sail SAFE plan focuses on a number of health and safety protocols. Chief among them are vaccinations. These initial cruises will be 100% vaccinated. This means both the crew and all passengers will need to be fully vaccinated. Thus, children who are not eligible to be vaccinated will NOT be able to sail on these initial voyages. The company also plans to test all passengers prior to boarding. COVID-19 tests will be required at embarkation, as well as disembarkation. In this latest cruise news update, Norwegian Cruise Line also indicated there would be a staggered embarkation, with a new process that will include all electronic sign-in as well as a health questionnaire and temperature check. Further, NCL did confirm that face coverings will be required in all indoor settings, and passengers will need to wear a mask outside when physical distancing is not possible. -----RESUMPTION OF CRUISING ON NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE ------ The cruise line will sail at a reduced capacity on these initial sailings. Onboard restaurants and entertainment facilities will be reconfigured to allow for social distancing. Still, Norwegian Cruise Line indicates that most onboard activities will occur with some temporary modifications. The cruise line will include contactless food and beverage service across the ship. Most likely, this means the use of QR menus like many restaurants on land have implemented this past year. Onboard all ships, there will be increased sanitation efforts in public areas and staterooms. The cruise line will be upgrading the air filtration system with filters that remove 99.9% of airborne pathogens. Improvements are being made to the onboard medical facilities as well. These changes will increase the medical team staff and upgrade equipment. In this resumption of cruise plan, Norwegian Cruise Lineβs Sail SAFE protocols will also extend ashore. This means that for the first few months, cruisers can only go ashore on NCL approved shore excursions. Finally, the cruise line will have a mobilization plan for contact tracing and more should positive cases arise. ------READ MORE NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE'S CRUISE RESTART------ https://eatsleepcruise.com/all-the-details-of-norwegian-cruise-lines-sail-safe-program/ ------TRENDING VIDEOS FROM EAT SLEEP CRUISE------ 7 Simple Ways to Save Money on a Cruise: https://youtu.be/UxDFNAS8yE4 Cruising Has Returned, But Should You Book?: https://youtu.be/03YLMGvMex4 Top New Cruise Ships 2021: https://youtu.be/XtqW0X5GrGE Make sure to SUBSCRIBE to our channel above to get the latest cruise tips, cruise reviews, packing guides, port guides, travel tips, and more.
