I Literally Saved a Life

I SAVED A WOMAN’S LIFE I speak at corporate workshops for Fortune 100 companies and have had a LOT (maybe hundreds) of people tell me that my workshops changed their life. Of course, this was metaphorical. But last month during my last workshop of 2025 I literally saved a woman’s life. I was speaking at a workshop for a leadership team when someone burst in the door telling us something happened. The VP and I run out to find one of his team on the floor dying of a heart attack. I call 911 and go through what I remember from my EMT training from two decades ago. Let me fast forward and share this snippet of an email she sent me: “It hit me on the flight home that everything in your prayer written below happened. Also, when I was on the floor in the office and felt like it was my time to go, you came along. I overheard people around us saying the ambulances/paramedics were busy with a lot of calls and I thought, “They’re not going to make it in time. This is it.” So, when you asked me if you could pray for me, I was ready. But then my symptoms began to subside. That was the beginning of God’s work through you. I will be forever grateful to God that he placed you there for me in that moment. Thank you Reuben.” Long story short, my prayer was that she would be so miraculously healed that the doctors wouldn’t know what happened. And that’s exactly what happened. Only the head of cardiology realized it was a heart attack because of an enzyme that shows up after a heart attack. Otherwise, she was so miraculously healed that they initially thought it wasn’t even a heart attack. I want to kick off the New Year by asking all of you what I can pray for. As you can see, I not only believe in a God that does miracles like saving lives but I also believe in a God who gave us the power to create wealth, cure cancer, save marriages, and more.
