Jewel of the Seas: Complete Ship Tour
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
This is the definitive Jewel of the Seas tour video. Filmed during the September 18th to 26th Pacific Coastal re-positioning sailing in 2015, it covers every public space onboard. The Jewel of the Seas is the 4th and final ship in Royal Caribbean's popular Radiance Class of ships having been delivered in 2004. The class is a continuation of the Vision Class introduced after the Voyager of the Seas with each ship delivered staggered between the Voyager Class deliveries. As a result they are a continuation of the Vision Class concept of building a ship around the connection to the sea through extensive use of glass enhanced with many of the revolutionary featured introduced with the Voyager Class. This same concept was then carried forward into the recent Quantum Class of ships. Built at a time when ships were expanding beyond the constraints of the Panama Canal she was built as a Panamax vessel maximizing the dimensions as much as possible while still allowing for easy transit between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. That set her size at 90,090 GRT, roughly 18,000 GRT larger than the Vision Class but only about 150 more passengers offering these vessels an impressive passenger to space ratio.
