Creator's Key Takeaways
virgin specifically hired people who hadn't worked in the cruise industry before to design this ship and it is really obvious
I was so ready to fall in love with this ship and the Virgin brand unfortunately I came away more convinced than ever that virgin aren't a cruise line for me
the cabin for example has no sir there are no draws or cupboards anywhere in the cabin apart from in the closet by the door
I've been cruising since I was a child and I've been on 29 cruises today I've never seen such ridiculous placement of a light switch

About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
My friend Emma just got back from a one-night preview cruise on Virgin Voyages' new cruise ship, Scarlet Lady... and she posted a really interesting video about the ship to her YouTube channel. In this video, I share a few highlights from her video, and encourage you to head over to her channel to watch her video in its entirety. It's a really honest look at what happens when a cruise ship gets designed by people who have never designed a cruise ship before! What could go wrong?!?! Plenty. You can view Emma's full video at https://youtu.be/LbUa703wG88 Emma runs a web site and Facebook group called "Cruising Isn't Just For Old People" which is targeted specifically at young people who are in to vacationing on cruise ships. They don't discriminate, though, and welcome old geezers like me in to their group, too. Visit Emma's web site at https://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.com/ and her Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/273786596385850 Emma's video is titled "What I Hated and What I Loved About Scarlet Lady" and her choice of title is a salute to a video I did called "What I Hated and What I Loved About MSC Seaside". I think Emma was as fascinated by my reaction to MSC Seaside as I am to her reaction to Scarlet Lady. In fact, we ended up collaborating on a video a year or two ago where we discussed my reaction to the ship. I was very critical of MSC Seaside and at one point in that video when I was completely exasperated by a dumb design decision I said "what were they thinking?!?!?" That's the inside story on the shirt I'm wearing in this video which has "what were they thinking?" printed on the front.
