(Kiel) Germany last port of call on MSC Euribia cruise from Norway before back to Copenhagen. It is the Home of a large Regatta of around 2000 yachts and ships in the last weekend of June (Keller Woche). City has a lot to offer if you want to relax. Walk around Botanic gardens, visit Geomal Aquarium, Maritime Museum (Fisch Halle). St Nicholai Church, Zoological Museum of Kiel University (Zoologisches Museum). We arrived later than expected and had plans to travel to Lubeck by train, this did not happen. We had friends that had prebooked through MSC Euriba to travel to Hamburg, they had a great day in a beautiful city. We wished we had booked from ship to travel to Lubeck as we would not have lost 1 hour each way travel time by shuttle bus morning and evening. This left us very little time to catch train service to Lubeck with 2 cruise ships in. Only 3 trains running in afternoon to get back to Kiel by shuttle bus before Dis embarkment with the possibility of waiting over an hour in late afternoon. We decided to not take risk as it was already later morning by the time we arrived at train station by shuttle bus. To be honest we were a bit upset with how the day unfolded, even though Kiel was a nice city it lacked the appeal of the other cities. We spent a lot of time walking around Platz Der Keller Matresen and shopping😊. You can check out the (Rathaus) Town Hall (Landeshaupt Stradt) There is a Hop on Hop of service, but friends from ship were disappointed with what they saw.
