Creator's Key Takeaways
There is no beach here. So, in order to get to a beach, it is about a 20 to 30 minute taxi ride to a beach.
I am on Explorer Journeys Explorer 1, which you can see right over there. Explorer 1's a small ship.
There really isn't a whole lot to do here if we're going to be honest.
So, you're basically coming here just for the pool.

About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
La Romana is a small cruise port in the Dominican Republic that some cruises visit. On my recent trip here on Explora Journeys Explora I we stopped for the day and since there were just a handful of guests who went ashore, the port was empty as you can see as I walk around. The port iself has a small shopping area with a duty free shop, some local merchants, and a handful of bars that have drinks and light bites. There's a nice size pool with plenty of loungers but there is no beach here. The closest beach is about a 20 minute ride away.
