http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Know in advance that Laem Chabang is referred to as “The Gateway to Bangkok” by Royal Caribbean, technically correct but Bangkok is a minimum of a two hour drive in each direction which puts the kibosh on visiting if passengers have already been and done it. Located about 25 kilometers/15 miles north of Pattaya, there is a small shopping center (Harbor Mall)on the main road by the entrance to the port with a Tesco/Lotus Supermarket and approximately a two mile walk from the pier. For passengers who have extensively toured Bangkok before (like us), the only other places of interest are: the beach resort of Pattaya or Laem Chabang International Country Club Golf Course.
