the medallion is just a little circular device that you can keep in your pocket when they send it to you it comes with a lanyard you can mount it on a necklace or they sell little wristbands that you can put it in

you can order food from anywhere on the ship to wherever you are and the nice thing is as you keep the medallion with you the crew can find where you are so when your meal is ready they'll bring it to you wherever you are
