Marella Explorer 2 | Surf and Turf | Lanzarote | Mardi Gras Party | Day 6 | Canarian Flavours 2026

Hi everyone, In this week's Marella Explorer 2 Canarian Flavours cruise series vlog we arrive in #Lanzarote. We start the day with a very quick breakfast from the Beach Cove and then make our way off the ship to the coach for our excursion. We booked this through Marella for a return coach to Costa Teguise as we had heard that wasn't too much to see in Arrecife. This was an early excursion and we were in Costa Teguise before 9:30am and at that point were told that things wouldn't be open until 10/11am. We nipped to the shops to get a drink and started to explore around the island with a walk along the front and around the beach area. It was so windy! We weren't too sure what to do as it was so early but as we had rushed breakfast we decided to have a bit more to eat and a warm drink to start the day here at The Irish Bailey. We really enjoyed this. We then had more of an explore and looked in a few shops. We were going to go to the aquarium but it was a bit too busy so we decided to just have another snack and a Dorada to drink. By this time it was pretty much time to get back to the coach. We wouldn't do this excursion again, it was too early. If we were to come here again we would make sure it was later in the day to get the most out of it. Once we got back to the ship we decided to have a drink and Valentines cookie from The Coffee Port. This was lovely and relaxed. We then went back to the room to get ready for the evening. We had our evening meal booked at the speciality dining restaurant Surf & Turf for Valentine's Day. We couldn't wait for this! We had a couple of pre dinner drinks at Flutes and also Aperitif for the the first time. The meal at Surf and Turf was amazing. Really good and quick service and the food was delicious! We would love to eat here again, maybe next time we will be able to manage dessert as some of that looked amazing too. It was then time to watch the Musicals show in the Broadway Show Lounge. This was fantastic, one of our favourites from the week, lots of great singing and dancing performances! We quickly nipped back to the cabin as we originally thought the next part of the evening would be on the pool deck and would be windy so I needed my hairbrush. We did however find out the Mardi Gras party had been moved to the Squid and Anchor instead. It was very busy but after a short while we were lucky thanks to a kind couple who let us know they were leaving so we could have there seats. This was then our spot for the rest of the night. Lots of fun game shows, Bandaoke with The Collective, Muzzik Unlimited performed and we had a good old conga around the Squid and Anchor! We joined the wrong conga line which looking back at the footage made me laugh! We love the entertainment on #marellacruises so much fun! We finished our day with a nightcap at Aperitif and we ordered some room service to the cabin which was another first for us. This was such a fun night, lots of fantastic entertainment and one of the best meals on board! We can't wait to share more of the #cruisevlogs with you!
