A medical emergency forced the Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady to return to Port Miami. Approximately 8 hours after the cruse departed for a 6 night cruse of the Caribbean, the Valiant Lady is back in Miami. Around 10pm an announcement was made over the P.A. system that there was an emergency medical situation near the ice cream venue on board. A while later the ship could be felt making a sharp turn, reversing course and heading north. A follow-up announcement was made explaining the situation and the need to return to Miami. The ship arrived back at Terminal V where it was met by Miami Dade Police and fire-rescue personnel. They boarded the ship shortly after arrival. Fire-rescue personnel left the scene a short time later. They did not transport anyone off the ship. Police officials remain on the ship as of 3:20am. No official statement has yet been made about the nature of the emergency or the status of the cruise.
