"Mein Schiff 2", "MSC Opera", "Oceana", "Queen Victoria" & "Balmoral" in Southampton - 03/08/2012
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
Exactly one month to the day since Southampton hosted the P&O Cruises 175th Anniversary, and the weather was completely the opposite of what it was then. P&O's "Oceana" was back in Southampton Docks on Friday 3rd August 2012 along with four other cruise ships. "Oceana" was moored in Berth 46 (The 'Ocean' Terminal). Joining her were Cunard's "Queen Victoria" in Berth 106 (The 'Mayflower' Terminal), Fred Olsen's "Balmoral" in Berth 104 and MSC Cruises's "MSC Opera" in Berth 101 (The 'City' Terminal) whilst the fifth ship was a special visitor in the form of "Mein Schiff 2" from TUI Cruises, docked at Berths 38/9 (The 'QEII' Terminal). "Mein Schiff 2" arrived on Thursday 2nd August and stayed overnight, due to depart on the 3rd at 20:00 hours. The other four ships all departed earlier (as seen in this video) between 16:30 hours and 18:00 hours. "MSC Opera" was the first to leave at around 16:30 followed by "Oceana" at around 16:45, then "Queen Victoria" around 17:00 and finally "Balmoral" at around 17:30. The latter two ships had to travel up to the Upper Turning Ground before coming back down past the Town Quay.
