About our Bacon Score methodology
YouTube Video Description↓

This is a slightly controversial cabin on Icon of the Seas because it's a suite (which costs more than a regular cabin) but it does NOT have a balcony. But, booking a suite on Icon of the Seas gives guests exclusive access to the ship's suite neighbourhood on Deck 17 called The Grove - this has it's own sun terrace, pool, hot tub, poolside restaurant and another posh two-tier restaurant called Coastal Kitchen. This is an amazing perk and this Panoramic Suite on Icon is one of the cheaper suites to grant you that exclusivity. Why is is cheaper? Because it doesn't have a proper balcony. I was offered an upgrade from a regular balcony cabin on Deck 8 to this Panoramic Suite on Deck 17 and I didn't hesitate, though I was worried about losing my balcony, which is a space that I normally LOVE and which gives me so much pleasure. However, when I set eyes on this Panoramic Suite I was so pleased that I'd taken it - it is absolutely beautiful, proper balcony or not. And the pseudo-balcony and panoramic window was actually glorious and I didn't feel like I was missing out. So, this video gives a complete cabin tour and inside look at this suite (#17004) offering 360 degree views as well as a good look at the panoramic window and view. I look at the bed, the storage, the cupboard space, the lounge area, the lighting, the plug sockets, the beverages, the coffee machine and vanity area as well as the bathroom. There is an ACTUAL BATH TUB in the bathroom and the sleek marble furnishings of the bathroom and toiletries are all exceptional. I loved this cabin/suite and would actually book it again, without hesitation, instead of a regular balcony cabin. And this is because being a guest of The Grove makes a real difference to your experience on Icon of the Seas. I loved the quietness of The Grove's exclusive sun terrace/pool etc. which is a long way from the noisy slides/thrills area which is the opposite end of the ship. And the food/poolside snacks/poolside bar in the Grove are just fabulous.
