This is part 3 of my series of videos about my recent cruise on the American Serenade cruise ship on the rivers of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. In this episode, we visit Savannah, Tennessee and Florence, Alabama. In Savannah, I explore the downtown area including a museum, listen to a rock band performing in the park, and follow boaters on the Tennessee River with my drone. In Florence, I go on an excursion offered by American Cruise Lines to visit three recording studios associated with the Muscle Shoals sound made famous in many hit records of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. This includes the FAME studios where "When A Man Loves A Woman" was recorded, as well as the competing Muscle Shoals studio on Jackson Highway, created by the Swampers, the rhythm section that was the key ingredient to the Muscle Shoals sound. American Cruise Lines is a company specializing in all-inclusive small-ship cruising to unique destinations within the USA... on American-made ships, with American crew members. Demand for these cruises within the USA, which do not even require a passport, has been soaring... causing American Cruise Lines to embark on a major expansion of their fleet in order to meet the demand.
