About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
In this video, I take you on a full tour of the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship... starting at the highest point on top of the ship and working my way down one deck at a time. (With the exception of the cabins and crew areas, and the children's care facilities.) You'll see everything from the restaurants and entertainment venues to the waterslides, sun decks, and even the exclusive VIP area that's off-limits to all but the most affluent passengers on the ship: The Haven. This video will be useful not only to people who have never been on a cruise ship before and are curious about what kind of amenities are onboard, but also to experienced cruisers who simply haven't sailed one of Norwegian's Breakaway-class cruise ships before. Regarding "The Haven"... That's something like a VIP area of the ship, that only about 270 of the ship's 4000+ guests have access to. I like it because you can still take advantage of all the great amenities of a mega cruise ship (which this video does a good job of showing you) but you also have access to a private area of the ship where there is no crowding at all, and where there's a very high level of service. If you don't like all the craziness of a big cruise ship, but you do want all the entertainment and dining options, The Haven is a good option for you. Just be forewarned that it's an expensive way to cruise! You could probably do three cruises in a regular balcony cabin for the cost of one cruise in The Haven. But for affluent travellers who can afford to pay extra for an uncrowded, pampered vacation experience... The Haven is fantastic. I do apologize that I did not include anything in this video about the children's care facilities such as the "Splash Academy" for kids 3-12 years old, or the "Guppies" area for even younger kids. I'm 61 years old and long past cruising with kids. It's awkward for me to get access to those areas to shoot video there, so I've decided to leave that to other YouTubers to talk about. Always keep in mind as you're watching my videos that everything I say is from the perspective of a 61 year old guy who has been on a lot of cruise ships over the years. In some cases, my perspective might be a bit different than what you're really looking for! But on the other hand, after so many cruises, it's easy for me to spot the things that are better than average and the things that are worse than average... and I'm not afraid to point them out. Norwegian Getaway gets very high scores from me overall! It's definitely a ship I recommend. I shot this video using a Canon EOS 80D digital SLR camera and a GoPro Hero 7 Black mounted on a gimbal. It was uploaded from the ship thanks to very good 17 Mbps upload speeds on Norwegian Breakaway's premium Internet service. If you're wondering why I stopped the tour at deck #6 and didn't show anything on decks 1-5... It's because deck 5 is mostly passenger cabins, and decks 1-4 are crew cabins and other crew-only work areas. Special note: YouTube has disabled the ability to comment on all videos on my channel.
