The ongoing winter storms that have plagued many countries over the past few months have meant that numerous cruises have had to be rescheduled with ships arriving or departing early/late or even staying in ports longer to avoid the weather. Amongst these ships are P&O Cruises' "Oriana" & "Oceana", both of which have continued to do cruises from Southampton during the winter rather than relocate to the Caribbean (like "Ventura" & "Azura") or do World Cruises ("Aurora", "Arcadia" & "Adonia"). "Oceana" arrived in Southampton on Thursday 13th February 2014 and with a fierce storm brewing, the decision was made to keep the ship moored at the 'Ocean' Terminal until Saturday 15th. She eventually departed at 14:57 on her 28-night cruise to the Caribbean returning on Thursday 13th March. "Oriana" on the other hand arrived early during the afternoon of Friday 14th February and stayed overnight in Southampton before departing at 17:19 from the 'City' Terminal heading on her 14-night cruise to the Canary Islands returning on Saturday 1st March.
