Our Family's Southern Caribbean Cruise, August to September 2016

I created this video with the YouTube Slideshow Creator (http://www.youtube.com/upload) to share a glimpse of our wonderful Southern Caribbean cruise. My mom, my husband, our two sons, and I enjoyed a fantastic vacation in 2016! In Puerto Rico, we stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan from Friday, August 26, 2016 to Saturday, August 27, 2016, which is when we boarded Adventure of the Seas for a 7-day port-intensive Southern Caribbean cruise to St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados. After visiting these ports, we enjoyed one sea day onboard Adventure of the Seas before returning to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Saturday, September 2, 2016. Prior to boarding our ship, while in San Juan, we walked quite a bit, especially on that Friday, including walking to El Morro, and we took the trolley back to the vicinity of the hotel. For the ports of call on our cruise, I highly recommend the following excursions: (1) Amigo Tours in St. Maarten... we took their Beach Bum excursion to Orient and Maho... I've enjoyed airplane watching since childhood... my dad and I loved airplane watching together, and he passed away in 2015... so now that my sons enjoy airplane watching as well, it was awesome to experience Maho Beach. http://www.stmaartenamigotours.com/ (2) Island Paradise Tours in St. Kitts... we took their Straight Up Beach excursion to Carambola Beach Club... (3) Dickenson Bay Beach in Antigua... for this one, we booked a beach day excursion via Royal Caribbean, Antigua Beach Express, and it was great! http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreEx... (4) Serenity Vacations and Tours in St. Lucia... our private island tour was a wonderful and warm experience... (5) My husband is a product of Barbados, so this port is special to our family. In order to stay on track with seeing much of the island and getting to the ship on time, we decided to book a tour... we used Glory Tours for a private tour in Barbados, which covered a lot of the island, including requested/customized stops at Kensington Oval, Cherry Tree Hill, Bathsheba, a quick stop to pick up lunch at Chefette and to quickly visit with my sister-in-law who works at the Hilton there... the tour then took us to the beach at Pirate's Cove where we enjoyed yet another beautiful Caribbean beach. http://www.glorytours.org/tours.html We enjoyed Adventure of the Seas!
