Hey Cruisers! It's day 8 of our phenomenal Panama Canal cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess, and we are dropping anchor in Grand Cayman. After a quick shout out to our awesome sponsor CruiseLine.com: https://cruiseline.com?utm_source=youtube&utm_campaign=cttv we kick off the day with a lovely view of Grand Cayman. This was a tender port so we'll give you a look at the tendering process, and let you know what we think is the ideal scenario when tendering. Spoiler - we like the big open tenders with lots of room and fresh air. There is a downside to these larger tenders though, and we'll give you our thoughts on that as well. We quickly cut from the tenders to the beach. What we don't show you is us trying to "beat the system" by walking out to the street to catch a cab rather than bargaining with the "sign holders" in port. Short story - you can't beat the system. We ended up walking too long and too far only to catch a cab that cost the same and made us wait while the driver looked for other passengers. Our driver talked us into going to the Royal Palms Beach Club. It was not what we had in mind, but we had a good time all the same. I think our main issue with the Royal Palms was the massive crowds, and the fact that they charged for umbrellas, chairs and cabanas. Most people did not realize there was a charge, and would settle in with all there gear only to be kicked out by the frantic staff. It was chaotic at best, and there were more than a few disgruntled visitors. There were 5 cruise ships there that day. I expect our experience would have been quite different if there were less ships. Our beach visit went by fast, and we found ourselves waiting in a massive tender line much sooner than we expected. Once we returned to the Caribbean Princess we lounged around the cabin a bit, and then headed off for our much anticipated Crown Grill visit. I was really looking forward to this, and decided to shake things up a bit with my entree selection. You won't believe what I chose! We round the video out with a brief recap, and a look at the Patter.
