Our Video Diaries in conventional VLOG Format from our recent cruise on P&O Iona to the Norwegian Fjords. Day 5 covers our brilliant day in Alesund. Ouyr first time in this port and it didnt disappoint. It has a different but pretty architectiral style than some other Norwegian cities but it was a great place to wander and explore the meandering streets. Split into two distinct areas (old Town and New Town) both are worthy of your time. Each has a viewpoint you can climb, although the 408 step climb up Mt Aksla in the New Town area is the most popular. Both viewpoints are brilliant and provide wonderful views out to the offshore islands and inland to the mountains and Fjords. Alesund has great shopping bars and cafes too and we made the most of this on our day here. A great place to enjoy fine food and drink and watch th world go by.
