Princess Cruises Sea Day Vlog | Breakfast, Activities & Formal Night

Our first sea day aboard the Sky Princess was packed from morning to night — food, activities, ship exploring, formal night, and a few surprises along the way. We started the day by trying breakfast in the Estrella dining room, only to discover a surprisingly small menu. Great service, but limited options. Once we checked out the buffet, it all made sense — the variety upstairs is incredible. From full English breakfast to Asian dishes, pastries, fruit, eggs Benedict, congee, and even a pancake and egg station… it’s easily one of the best buffets we’ve seen at sea. Throughout the day we explored more of the ship, including the adults‑only retreat, a chocolate‑making demo, and the new‑cruiser welcome party — something Princess does very differently from Carnival. Free drinks, giveaways, and a fun presentation from the cruise director made it a unique experience. Formal night brought a beautiful dinner setting, classic appetizers like escargot and beef carpaccio, and the iconic champagne waterfall with the captain and senior officers. Later, we checked out the Spotlight Bar show… and let’s just say it wasn’t our favorite. The performers were fantastic, but the storyline and song choices didn’t quite land for us. We wrapped up the night with jazz in Take Five, some great cocktails, and a late‑night visit to the buffet where we discovered a poke bowl station — a huge win. Overall, a full and fascinating sea day with plenty of highs, a few surprises, and lots to explore. Another sea day is coming tomorrow, and we’re excited to see what else Sky Princess has in store.
