The second of two new cruise ships to arrive in Southampton in 2010 was 'Cunard's "Queen Elizabeth" - a sister ship to "Queen Victoria" who was launched in 2007. "Queen Elizabeth" is the third ship to carry the name. The first being the great liner back in the 1930s. The second being the well-known "Queen Elizabeth 2" or "QE2" as she was better known as. The naming of the new 'Queen' took place on Monday 11th October 2010 at Southampton's 'Ocean Cruise Terminal'. HM The Queen herself was the godmother of the ship, adding to the collection of other ships that she has named including the "QE2", "Queen Mary 2" and even "Oriana". As with the naming of 'P&O Cruises's "Azura" back in April, I was able to attend this naming ceremony. I couldn't film the actual event, but here are some views from the top deck of the ship in the evening before dinner.
