Queen Mary 2 Winter Crossing Day 6 became all about our sheltered balcony, the North Atlantic Ocean, and a surprise double rainbow during our 8-day transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton. Some sea days are busy, and some sea days are simple — breakfast in the room, coffee and tea, editing on the computer, cold air outside, and that incredible feeling of being close to the water while Queen Mary 2 cuts across the North Atlantic in January. In this video, we start the morning with room service breakfast onboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, including the American breakfast, coffee, tea, and the balcony view that Michael clearly cannot stop talking about. This sheltered balcony cabin has become one of our favorite parts of the crossing because it puts us so close to the ocean while still giving us some protection from the winter weather. We also show what it is like using the balcony as our unofficial outdoor refrigerator, keeping ice and sparkling wine chilled in the cold North Atlantic air. Then, while working on our full Queen Mary 2 ship tour, Michael steps outside and catches another incredible rainbow — and then realizes it is actually a double rainbow over the ocean.
