"Queen Victoria" & "Oceana" depart from Southampton Docks - 22/11/2012
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
Thursday 22nd November proved to be a very windy day. And windy days can often cause problems for ships of all kinds. The three cruise ships moored in Southampton Docks had to battle against the strong gusts whilst they departed on their respective cruises. Cunard's "Queen Victoria" was the first to get going at around 16:36 - six minutes late - sailing out of the 'Ocean' Terminal on her way to Vigo. She was followed by P&O Cruises' "Oceana" who left around 16:50 - twenty minutes late - from the 'Mayflower' Terminal and was assisted by two tugboats before heading off towards Maderia. The third and final ship in port, Royal Caribbean International's "Independence of the Seas" was heavily delayed and did not leave the 'City' Terminal until around 19:30 heading for Lisbon. This was also the same time that Fred. Olsen Cruise Line's "Black Watch" was due to arrive in Southampton following her relocation from Dover this morning.
