Scarlet Lady: Funchal Madeira Portugal Tender on December 4th, 2024 (4K)

On November 28th Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady set sail on a 16 night From Rome to Miami Transatlantic Voyage crossing both the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) she made stops in various ports along the way. This was her first sailing after returning from Virgin Voyages first ever dry dock and completed her inaugural Mediterranean season as she sailed home to Florida. The Scarlet Lady's third port of call on this transatlantic voyage was to the city of Funchal in the Madeira Islands. On that day the AIDAblu, P&O Arcaida, and Marella Explorer 2 were already in port occupying every available berth. That meant that Scarlet Lady had to anchor in the harbor and tender her passengers ashore. While the journey was scenic, the seas were unfortunately rough. This was especially true for the return voyage back to the ship where the small tender boat was tossed around in the seas while waiting to tie off to the ship.
