See What to Expect on a Perfect Day on the Douro River during a Viking #RiverCruise in November

We had a wonderful day with Viking the Douro River one of the last days of the cruise. We signed up for the Cistercians and Wine tour, which we highly recommend! We loved the small town we visited in the morning with a bridge from the 12th century and connection to the Moores, the church we went in had Portugal’s famous blue-painted tiles and a stunning ceiling, and the family-owned winery we visited had delicious homemade pastries and olive oil with great wine. Bonus for the fall colors and all the autumn splendor - like a fireplace - we could hope for. What’s more is the day continued with a fantastic sunset sail into Porto and an evening with the talented University music group, the Tunas, for us on the ship, Viking Torgil. If you are considering a Douro River cruise, do it! We did it in the fall and it was especially charming!
