I don't think that it messes it up. I just think that it just creates an opportunity for people to understand that there are other people in this world and other cultures in this world and the media's view of that culture doesn't necessarily mean that's the culture.

The benefit of stereotyping is it allows the brain to always process complex social environments by using mental shortcuts instead of starting from scratch to understand every person you meet.

I made my story. I chose to be something different and that's what I made it.
