About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Description↓
We’ve been out of service for 6 months and with only 130 crew members onboard there is obviously reduced water usage. To avoid stagnant water in the plumbing systems we flush. Flushing helps the system keeps the water fresh, clear of any sediment, and helps to maintain chlorine residuals, avoid bacterial growth, & keeps us ready to go back into service. Everyone chips in since we have galleys, bars, public restrooms, lockers, 1477 guest staterooms and 847 crew cabins onboard the Celebrity Edge. My area is deck 12 and along with a partner we cover the 167 guest staterooms and lockers. We split the duty into the Opener and Closer. The "Opener" unlocks the staterooms, turns on the sink, showers and flushes the toilet, with some of our suites have up to 13 different water sources. After a thorough flushing the “Closer” turns off the water and sets the room to ECO Mode which turns off the lights, maintains the temperature and lowers the shades to reduce energy consumption.
