Our video subject today is Cruise-ins at Spanish Springs in The Villages Florida. If you are a fan of classic cars, then you have to attend a Cruise In. Cruise Ins have been happening in Spanish Springs for the last 20 years and is typically attended by 2500-5000 visitors per show depending on the time of year. Obviously the showings were disrupted by the pandemic, but they are back up and running every month now. Held the 3rd Saturday of the month, we went to the one on 16 Oct. If you missed that one there will be cruise ins on 20 November and 18 December. This is the Villages entertainment website https://www.thevillagesentertainment.com/cruise-ins/ The website will give you the date/time of future cruise ins and has FAQs addressing registration of cars and voting for your favorite care. Cars have to be at least 30 years old to enter. By our count there was some 180 cars displayed at this cruise in, everything from Model Ts to GTOs. There was also some food vendors and as typical on nights at the squares, there was live music, this night it was the band “Dance Express.” Charlie and Jennifer Pryde have lived in The Villages for 18 months and in Central Florida for fifteen years. Our main activities in The Villages are biking, fitness parks, pickle ball, platform tennis, golf and swimming. We love to travel throughout Florida, the United States and internationally.
