Join us as we kick off our Norway & Iceland cruise adventure onboard the stunning Sky Princess! In this episode, it’s both travel day and embarkation day, and we're taking you along from Tampa International Airport all the way to Southampton, UK, sharing travel tips, hiccups, and first impressions along the way. We flew Virgin Atlantic to London Heathrow—our first time with this airline. The flight was decent overall (a bit warm at times), and once we landed, it was time to head to Southampton. 🚉✈️ Our transit from Heathrow to Southampton didn’t go exactly as planned—thanks to a few mistakes, we had to switch from the train to a National Express bus. But it all worked out, and I’ll walk you through exactly how we got from Heathrow to Southampton in under two hours, so you can learn from our experience if you're heading there for your own cruise. After arriving in Southampton, we checked into a perfectly located Airbnb in the city center and took some time to explore the area and get ready for embarkation. 🚶♂️🚢 The next morning, we set out on foot for the cruise terminal—though a mix-up with the terminal meant we walked about 32 minutes instead of 12. Still, the weather was beautiful (low 70s and sunny), and we arrived at the Sky Princess with plenty of time to spare. Embarkation was smooth and quick, and once onboard we immediately started enjoying the Princess Plus package, which includes drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and more—definitely worth checking out. We also loved using the Princess MedallionClass™ tech, which made getting around and ordering things super easy.
