YouTube Video Description↓

In this video, I'll show you what's so special about the spa on a Viking Ocean cruise ship. The main attraction is the thermal suite within the spa, and it's a heavenly place for relaxation... and available for use by all Viking guests at no additional charge. The thermal suite features a large indoor pool heated to 95 degrees, a Jacuzzi heated to 101 degrees, a sauna, snow room, plunge pool, rainfall shower, padded loungers, tile loungers with radiant heat, and luxurious changing rooms. Viking's thermal suite is very similar to the thermal suites on many Norwegian Cruise Line ships... but serving far fewer passengers and therefore not crowded. And unlike NCL, passengers don't have to pay extra fees to use the thermal suite and every passenger on the ship has access. This was my second cruise with Viking Ocean Cruises. About a year and a half ago, I sailed on the Viking Star. In a video that I made about that cruise, I was overwhelmingly positive in my comments about the cruise, but I did point out a few things that weren't quite right. I was extremely impressed to discover on my second cruise with Viking that some of the biggest problems I had pointed out about that first cruise did not exist on my second cruise with Viking. I'm not saying that I had anything to do with the corrections that Viking made... it could easily have been that they got the same feedback from many other passengers. In any case, Viking realized the mistakes made earlier, and made corrections, which was really impressive for me to see. As an example, on my first Viking cruise, the water in the big pool within the thermal suite was kept quite cool... probably due to the Nordic tradition of moving from hot water to cold water during a spa session. In my video review of that ship, I said that I thought that the cool water in the big pool in the thermal suite was a mistake. I was so delighted to see here in 2019 that the water in the thermal suite pool was heated to 95 degrees. You can see my original 2016 video review of the Viking Star at https://youtu.be/eID9qlcVFzE In addition to the thermal suite, I also show you some of the Viking spa's other big features such as the exercise facility, the hair salon, the couples massage room, and more. Keep an eye on my channel for an upcoming video where I'll be explaining "The Viking Difference"... a huge number of things that makes a cruise with Viking a very different experience from a cruise with most of the other cruise lines. I'll also be posting more details of my cruise (a few weeks from now) on my web site at www.jimzim.net If you're interested in booking a cruise on Viking, or any of the cruise lines, it's helpful to have a travel agent on your side to take care of the details and to keep you from making rookie mistakes. You are welcome to use my travel agent, Caitlin Gallagher, the owner of Ambren Travel. This will indicate to YouTube that it's good video, and that it should be recommended to people interested in Viking Ocean Cruises. Disclosure: Viking invited me on this cruise at their expense, to give me the opportunity to make some new videos about their cruise line. This was the first cruise out of the 46 cruises I've been on where I didn't pay my own way. I honestly don't feel that anything I've said in this video was said out of a sense of obligation to Viking. I truly believe that Viking is a great cruise line offering a unique product, and it is my pleasure to help spread the word about Viking. If you look at my 2016 videos about Viking, in which I paid full price for the cruise, I also had very positive things to say about Viking. It's definitely a cruise line I can recommend, and one I plan to do more cruises with... even if I have to pay for them myself!
