Day Five on our VIVA Cruises journey began with some real umming and ahhing. We had chosen not to join the tour into the nearby town of Honfleur, instead intending to have a relaxed morning onboard. That’s when FOMO struck and I decided we needed to see what Honfleur had to offer. A ten minute walk from the boat was the bus station where we hopped on a local bus to Honfleur. We actually bumped into the tour rep and she said we could head back with them, but being an hour or so behind, we opted to do our own thing. After a quick walk through the Vieux Bassin (Old Harbour and Jardin de Personalites) we ventured up and onto the old town. The streets, lightly sprinkled with rain, were so pretty leading to the iconic wooden St Catherine’s church. We needed to warm up (what is this weather?!) so nipped into the Cidererie for a glass of the good stuff and pancakes. Back on board the VIVA Gloria we had high tea before going back to our room to get showered for dinner. It’s all food, all the time!
